Tom’s note about my brother:

Tom Mellett (@tomalanus)
@Jasun Horsley (I’m responding to your God’s Orphans” post today) Venerable Jasun! I love how your late brother Sebastian had himself literally crucified in the Philippines — thus freeing you to crucify yourself metaphorically. I sense that you and Seb have a karmic entanglement beyond the DNA from your mother. I see you as the Poster Child — even role model — for Fetal Alcohol Syndrome because, starting as soon as a zygote, you eagerly recapitulated the scope of humanity’s spiritual evolution as Steiner describes it in his “Mission of Alcohol” lecture. (Gospel of John, May 23, 1908, Hamburg, GA 103) “In the future of humanity, it will be possible to see in the fullest sense of the word that it was the mission of alcohol to draw men so deeply into materiality that they become egoistic, thus bringing them to the point of claiming the ego for themselves, no longer placing it at the service of the whole folk.” Today the “whole folk” have a baseline of strong egoism and that is why drinking today creates “counter-ego” forces. (Maybe like putting the training wheels back on the bicycle?). But from zygote to now, you have cleared a path through the karmic wilderness. A relevant Gospel verse for you now is Matthew 10:16 where I insert the beings from anthroposophy. “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore crafty as serpents (Ahriman) and guileless as doves (Lucifer).” A great example of your balancing dove with serpent was the “outsourcing” of your guruhood to Dave Oshana. Snarkily, I could view it as masterfully manipulative passive-aggression, but the way you navigated the episode convinced me that you genuinely cared for Dave and that he represents for you your way of burning away some karmic excess of your brother Sebastian. After all, since 1933, not only does Christ permeate the etheric realm of the earth but he is also the New Lord of Karma, supplanting Moses, the stern Law-Giver and Implacable Law-Keeper. Thus I see you now as an exemplar of the new etheric karma warriors. You pay it forward instead of back and crowdsource the burden among others in your close-knit Children of Job group. Here I cite Matthew 11:30. “For my yoke is easy and my burden light. “ To me, the easy yoke means it is well-fitted or precisely tailored to the necks of the oxen. And the light burden indicates the distribution of real karmic debt among the other “wagons” of your group. Any given person’s karmic burden must still be delivered, but others can willingly and consciously take on parts of it, especially if their wagon is not that weighed-down. All this is to invite you to a celebration of this important milestone in Sebastian’s sojourn through the bardo after death. Let’s do the math. Since Sebastian died in 2010 at the age of 47 and RS tells us that our stint in Kama Loka lasts approximately 1/3 of our life span, we divide 47 by 3 and get 16. Add 16 to 2010 and we come to 2026. So this is Sebastian’s graduation from Kama Loka! Having now laid aside his floozy-doozy of an astral body-corpse, he now appears spiritually as pristine Ego-Spirit ready to set “foot” on the continental region of Devachan. (The Dandy of Devachan!) He turns to thank you for helping him through the worst of Kama Loka, thinks Mother did the best she could and that was karmically good enough for both of you. He smiles and waves. And yes, he’s got the Stigmata wounds but now more archetypal than literal. As for the 2 Lords of karma he says: “Jesus saves, but Moses invests.” Tom
